51视频 recently celebrated its annual Global Vision Week, a time set apart for students to seek God鈥檚 heart for the nations and ask the important question, 鈥淲hat could God do with my 鈥榊ES鈥?鈥 Grounded in the belief that 鈥渁mazing always begins with consecration,鈥 as Mark Batterson says in *Going All In*, the week focused on preparing hearts and minds for kingdom work through prayer, worship, and powerful experiences.
A Week of Prayer and Reflection
Global Vision Week kicked off with a unique prayer station experience, where students participated in interactive stations designed to align their hearts with God’s global mission. The event was an opportunity for deep spiritual reflection, as students were encouraged to listen to God鈥檚 voice and be open to His plans for their lives.
One student, Maddy Gale, shared her thoughts on the experience, *鈥淸It was an] incredible experience. I could feel the intentionality [and how] the Holy Spirit guided your event. Feeling so refreshed and realigned from that time. This should be a GVW staple!鈥
Chapel Messages and Challenges
A highlight of the week was the guest speaker Aaron Hunter, Foursquare Global Associate Director of the Americas, who delivered a powerful message during Chapel.
Hunter challenged students to “get comfortable with the uncomfortable,” inspiring them to embrace the challenges that come with following God鈥檚 calling. Reflecting on his time at LPU, Hunter said, *It was exciting to see the potential and hunger of the LPU students to hear about and be involved in God’s mission.鈥
Later in the week, the Global Impact Chapel hosted over 15 local and global organizations, giving students a chance to explore partnership opportunities in ministry. Student testimonies from previous mission trips further emphasized God鈥檚 faithfulness, particularly in overcoming challenges like fundraising, culture shock, and team dynamics.
Stories of Impact and Future Global Engagement
Throughout the week, LPU alumni shared stories of past global missions, including Foursquare Missions International leaders like Jared Mueller and Tim Wimberly. Mueller shared how an LPU team helped reconnect with a school that had been out of reach for several years. Wimberly, a missionary in Romania, praised the LPU team’s flexibility, cultural preparedness, and determination to serve others selflessly.
Wimberly noted three key takeaways from the team鈥檚 impact:
1. Their adaptability in the face of change, ensuring success despite unexpected challenges.
2. Their willingness to ask questions and serve in unfamiliar cultural contexts.
3. Their teamwork, inspired others as they pushed through exhaustion to build homes for underserved families.
The week concluded with the announcement of LPU鈥檚 2025 Global Engagement Trips, which received overwhelming interest from students. These trips will provide opportunities for hands-on ministry in Puerto Rico, Romania, and Kenya, including outreach to children, seniors, and the homeless, as well as building homes and participating in youth camps and pastor conferences.
Worship and Service: Closing the Week on a High Note
Tehillah, a student-led worship service, drew over 70 students together for a night of prayer, worship, and seeking God’s guidance for the future. The week also included a local blood drive, where each blood donation contributed $10 toward future mission trips.
Global Vision Week wrapped up with a lively celebration, *Salsa y Salsa,* where students enjoyed delicious Mexican food and learned various Hispanic dances鈥攁 fitting end to a week dedicated to embracing the diverse ways God calls His people to serve.
As LPU鈥檚 Global Vision Week came to a close, the campus was buzzing with excitement and anticipation for what God will do in and through the students who are ready to say 鈥淵ES鈥 to His call. The university is expectant for how these upcoming global missions will impact not just the nations, but the hearts of each student who takes part.
